President Deni held a meeting with Farole, Abdiweli and Omar to find a way to resolve the tension in Bosaso.

Garowe (PP News Desk) — A delegation consisting of two former Puntland State Presidents Abdirahman Farole and Abdiweli Mohamed Ali arrived in Garowe today to take part in efforts to defuse the tension in Bosaso following the sacking of Puntland Security Force Commander Brigadier General Mohamud Abdulahi.

The two former leaders are accompanied by the former Somalia Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke. Last week, the three leaders issued a joint statement in which they called for peaceful resolution to the stand-off in Bosaso to prevent further clashes.

Puntland State President Said Abdullahi Deni met the three politicians at the Presidency. In a televised address last night, President Deni said he was committed to peaceful resolution of the stand-off. “The government will abide by any recommended resolutions in line with governance and our constitution” said President Deni. Ceasefire is holds in Bosaso following clashes that displaced inhabitants in several neighbourhoods of Bosaso.
