Kenya Foreign Minister “Didn’t Pay A Courtesy Visit” to Somalia President

Mogadishu (PP News Desk) — In what appears to be a political twist in the plot, reports have emerged that, contrary to what the Somali Federal Government stated in the communique on the meeting between Somalia and Kenya Foreign Ministers in Mogadishu on Sunday, the President of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo had not held a meeting with the Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Raychelle Omamo.

A communique co-signed by the Somali Foreign Minister Mohamed Abdirizak stated the “the Cabinet Secretary was granted audience with His Excellency Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia.”

Has the Somali Foreign Ministry misrepresented the talks with Kenya’s Foreign Minister?

Villa Somalia has not commented on the communique which, if it turns out to be economical with truth, boosts the Somali President’s stance on the caretaking status of the incumbent federal government until presidential elections are held in October.

The Prime Minister of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble is slated to visit Nairobi to hold a meeting with the President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta.
