Bosaso (PP News Desk) — Lorries and passenger vehicles travelling to Bari districts have becoming stranded at Ceel Daahir watercourse due to torrential rains.

“An ordinary bridge should have been built there in place of a concrete watercourse that cannot cope with torrential rains” said Abdul Mohamud, a structural engineer in Bosaso.

Floods eroded foundations of the concrete watercourse, leaving lorries and cars vulnerable to getting bogged down in the sludge.

Ceel Daahir is 90 KM from Bosaso, the commercial city of Puntland. Seasonal rains affect travel along the under-maintained Bosaso-Garowe road.
