Galka’yo (PP News Desk) — Unknown gunmen have assassinated Jamal Farah Aden, a veteran radio journalist, in north Galka’yo.
Jamal was at a business premises when the gunmen had committed the murder and fled the scene. The gunmen also wounded a man who was at the business premises reportedly owned by Jamal.
Puntland police in North Galka’yo launched investigation into the murder case.
Since 2015 more than five journalists have been assassinated in North Galka’yo controlled by Puntland State Administration. No group has claimed responsibility for the murder of Jamal.
“We send our condolences to the family and relatives of Jamal” said Ali Ahmed, a journalist in Garowe. Jamal is survived by a wife and children.
