Hargeisa (PP News Desk) — The Somaliland Minister for Telecommunications and Technology Dr Abdiweli Sheikh Abdullahu today unveiled a state of the art equipment to manage telecommunication signals and control radiation from telecom masts.
Attended by cabinet members, business leaders and representatives from telecom companies, the event began with a speech of Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Abdullahi, who said the Ministry had procured the equipment in response to complaints from the public about radiation from telecom masts.
“The equipment will also improve the quality of telecommunication services. The process to procure the equipment is a dream that had come true” said Abdiweli. Abdiweli said the equipment “will enable the Ministry to go to any place where people complain of higher radiation levels. We will investigate if a company is accused of increased radiation levels from telecom masts.”
Somaliland Minister for Interior Mohamed Kahin commended Telecommunications and Technology Ministry for procuring an equipment that will contribute to the health and safety of the public who raised the alarm about higher radiation levels from telecom masts in Somaliland.
