PUNTLAND POST NEWS IN BRIEF

Bosaso (PP) — Bosaso-based small business owners complain of the new sales tax in the Puntland State budget passed by the parliament of the Federal Member State. People in Bosaso woke up to local businesses still closed for business, while goods imported  still remain in Bosaso Port stores due to unpaid import levies.

 Baydhaba (PP)— South West  State of Somalia yesterday publicised the schedule for selecting a new cohort of MPs for the administration of President Abdiasis Lafagareen. The selection of MPs will last ten days (1 March to 10 March).

Jowhar (PP) — Hirshabelle State is preparing for one person, one vote polls, according to Ali Abdullahuli Hussein, the Vice President of Hirshabelle. Mr Hussein said Hirshabelle “supports the electoral law signed into law by the President of Somalia.”

Garowe (PP)— The First Level Court of Nugaal region resumed hearing of a murder and rape case. Seven men are on trial for the murder and rape of Hodan Mohamed in Garowe one year ago. The father of the late Hodan was at the hearing.
