Martisoor Hotel
Main Purpose of the Role:
To ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, that all mechanical installations on the hotel are maintained to the highest standards. The Hotel Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing maintenance and repairs to HVAC equipment, installing electrical wiring, repairing and installing plumbing, and performing preventive maintenance across all building systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment, including hotel rooms, repairs to pipelines, toilets, sinks, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating, air conditioning (HVAC), ventilation, and water treatment systems
- Keep systems maintained and operational by performing routine maintenance, repairing or replacing broken or defective parts and fixtures, and performing preventative maintenance services
- Ensure that plant and equipment run safely and efficiently at all times, with the aim of minimizing downtime
- Schedule planned and preventative maintenance work, which may be outside normal working hours
- Ensure that machinery and equipment are kept in good working order and meet all safety regulations
- Attend to all breakdowns, failures, or malfunctions swiftly and report to the Mechanical & Electrical Manager
- Maintain an equipment, parts, and supplies inventory by checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Document all maintenance works carried out in line with company procedures
- Contribute to the forward planning of shutdowns and capital works within the operational site confines
- Be flexible with working hours and be able to cover call-outs
- Perform periodic inspections on plant, machinery, and automated systems to identify and address any issues proactively
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and time spent, to optimize future planning and budgeting
- Assist with the development and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures to ensure consistent high-quality service
- Provide training and mentor ship to the maintenance team to improve their skills and capabilities
- Collaborate with other department heads to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to hotel operations
Requirements:
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification, and/or BTEC Level 3 or higher in Maintenance Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a maintenance operative, including HVAC systems operation and maintenance
- Demonstrated technical competence in all aspects of mechanical maintenance, particularly generators, water treatment, refrigeration, elevators, air conditioning, and HVAC systems
- Strong working knowledge of building management systems and computerized maintenance management software
- Experience in project management, including the ability to plan, coordinate, and oversee major maintenance projects
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize maintenance strategies
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, reliability, and flexibility.
