Social and Environmental Development Organization (SEDO), working in collaboration with WFP and the Ministry of Agriculture & Irrigation, is implementing Strengthening Sustainable Linkages Between Farmers’ Cooperatives and Schools under the home-grown school feeding Program in the Bosaso and Garowe Districts of Puntland State.

The Home-Grown School Feeding (HGSF) constitutes a school feeding model that provides safe, diverse, and nutritious food, sourced locally from smallholders Farmer to children in schools. Its objectives include:

1. Smallholder farmer producer groups are developed, and their capacity is strengthened to become all-inclusive, self-governing, and demand-driven community-based organizations.
2. Linkage of smallholder farmer producer groups with schools as an alternative market
3. Smallholder farmers have improved income security through diversified livelihoods
4. Smallholder farmers have increased quality production through the adoption of climate-friendly technologies
5. Smallholder farmer producer groups expand production capacity, improving overall food and nutrition security.
6. Schools have diversified nutritious foods through the adoption of climate-friendly technologies.

SEDO now invites Bids from eligible entities (“Bidders”) for the provision of agricultural equipment’s, supply of vehicles and construction of storage rooms in Puntland State of Somalia. Each bidder can apply for a maximum of two lots. The goods and related services, and the contract expected to be awarded are:

Lot 1-A. Supply of 8000m 2-inch HDPE pipes to the farmer cooperatives in Bosaso and Garowe districts

Lot 1-B. Supply of 2200 ventilated stackable vegetable crates of 50kg to reduce post-harvesting losses

Lot 2. Supply of 3 Mini Truck vehicles for the cooperatives in Bari and Nugaal Region.

Lot 3- A. Construction of 6 Storage rooms with 6x8M dimensions for the cooperatives in Bari and Nugaal.

Lot 3-B. Establishment of 5 Cold storage facilities (Solar AC) to the existing storage rooms in 5 locations in Bari and Nugaal

Note: Lot 1-A to Lot 1-B are considered as one lot.
