Garowe (PP News Desk) — The former Foreign Minister of Somalia Ahmed Isse Awad has denounced the decision of Somaliland Administration to indiscriminately shell the city of Laascaanood today.
“The …indiscriminate bombardement of [Laascaanood] by Somaliland forces is extremely distressing and should be condemned…” tweeted Awad.
Somaliland forces launched a surprise attack to disrupt an event in Laascaanood for the release of a communique after the end of consultative conference for Dhulbahante and Fiqishini clans to reaffirm their identity based a politically and territorially United Somalia in line with the UN Security Council Resolutions.
Somaliland forces used mortars and heavy weaponry to shell residential parts of Laascaanood.
