Puntland Defence Forces Capture ISIS Outpost in Sheebaab

Puntland Defence Forces captured an ISIS outpost in Sheebaab village today.

Sheebaab (PP News Desk) —Puntland Defence Forces today captured Sheebaab, a village under the jurisdiction of Qandala. ISIS, a terrorist outfit, used the village as an outpost. A banner written in Arabic was put up to “welcome” visitors to what the terrorist group called (Sheebaab Village) in the “Wilayat of Somalia,” a political appellation that misleadingly designates Somalia as part of the ISIS Caliphate.

People who had not heard the name of the village before wondered if the name contained a spelling error. The similarity between the ISIS and Al-Shabaab flags, which had to be blurred when shared on social media networks, contributed to the confusion.

Meanwhile, ISIS terrorists fled hideouts in Togga Jaceel in the Calmiskaad mountain range. Seven ISIS terrorists have surrendered to Puntland forces. At Sheebaab, Puntland soldiers discovered a hideout used by ISIS terrorists. A tunnel was dug in the ground and covered with corrugated sheets. “It is too dusty in here. The so-called emir [of ISIS] used tubes inserted into the tunnel for ventilation. This is a solar-powered bulb he used. The hideout also served as a communications depot” a soldier said in a video clip recorded for the media.

The Sheebaab hideout was the last abode used by the ISIS senior leader, who fled the area after Puntland forces advanced on the village from several directions. “Hillaac Operation will continue until the last ISIS member is killed or captured” said General Abdi Hashi, the Commander of Puntland Defence Forces, who briefed the media in Sheebaab.
