
Boosaaso (PP News Desk) — The outgoing British Ambassador to Somalia, Michael Nithavrianakis, met with the President of Puntland State of Somalia in Boosaaso yesterday.
“The meeting was attended by members of the Puntland Council of Ministers. Counterterrorism operations against ISIS, and development projects in Puntland funded by Britain were discussed in the meeting” reads a press statement from the Puntland presidency.
President Deni thanked Britain for its strong stance on the territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
“The UK stands with Somalia against terrorism. It was very good seeing Puntland President @HESaidADeni in Bossaso today. The UK will be supporting #OpHilac against Daesh with medical supplies, among other things” tweeted Ambassador Nithavrianakis.
Puntland Defence Forces continue counterterrorism operations in the Calmiskaad mountain range, where ISIS terrorists were plotting to establish a haven for transnational terrorism.
