The decree has come into effect today. Security forces will double their efforts to implement enhanced security measures at checkpoints, border control points and airports.
“All agencies to which this decree is addressed are duly instructed that undocumented foreigners are banned from entering Puntland State from 19/2/2025. Authorities are instructed to discharge their duties to implement the decree” reads the statement.
Meanwhile, the Puntland State government will resume the second phase of deporting undocumented foreigners from Puntland State of Somalia, as the Commander of Police Operations in Bari, Lieutenant Colonel Habib Gorod Shire, said today in a briefing to the media.
The ongoing counterterrorism operation against ISIS in the Calmiskaad mountain range has brought to light a large number of foreign terrorists who were plotting to turn parts of Puntland State into terror hideouts and foxholes.
