Mogadishu (PP News Desk) — The former President of Hirshabelle State Mohamed Abdi Ware indirectly implied that Al-shabaab was bribing his successor Ali Gudlawe. “We have reliable information that Al Shabaab is spending millions to have Governor Ali Jeyte replaced. Replacing Governor Jeyte at this time is giving aid and comfort to Shabaab. President @GudlaweHussein leave Governor Jeyte alone!” tweeted Ware.
Jeyte, the Governor of Hiiraan, assumed the role of a commander in the popular uprising by Macawisley against Al-shabaab. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has appointed Mr Ware the Special Envoy for Civilian Protection and Stabilization. Rival politicians have found fault with Ware over his tweets. “Mr Ware should not be spreading disinformation about his successor. Gudlawe was forthright about illegal roadblocks set up in Hirshabelle by some units of the Somali army. There was no a plan to rein in militias mobilised for the campaign against Al-shabaab. Ware launched a surprise tweet attack on Hirshabelle” said a former Hirshabelle MP in Mogadishu who spoke to Puntland Post anonymously.
President Gudlawe reportedly complained to Villa Somalia about Ware’s “insinuating tweets”. Villa Somalia is under pressure to persuade Ware to retract his tweet on Hirshabelle President. The American Embassy in Mogadishu welcomed the appontement of Ware as Special Envoy.
