Mogadishu (PP News Desk) — Mahad Abdirahman, Somali MP and former Commander of Somali Custodial Corps, today warned against “attempts to destabilise Southwest State of Somalia.”
“Our children were left behind due to conflict. They have recently started to go to schools. We will defend Southwest State against any attacks on its leadership” Mahad said.
“Anyone who is interested in replacing the incumbent Southwest State President [Abdiaziz Laftagareen] must wait for the end of his term of office. There are people who have already called for a change of administration under the pretext that the President Abdiaziz’s term of office has come to an end” added Mahad.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is reportedly considering releasing Sheikh Mukhtar Robow from house arrest, a move that influential Southwest State politicians view as the beginning of a power struggle in which Villa Somalia will take sides to reform federal member states that were close to the former Somalia President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed.
A group of Southwest State politicians allied with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud are meeting in Mogadishu to revive the six-region agenda on one hand and replace the Abdiaziz Laftagareen on the other.
Shortly after the election Adam Madobe as the Speaker of the Somalia Parliament Adan Saransor, an MP and a critic of President Abdiaziz Laftagareen, posed for the camera with the Speaker and called for “a regime change in Southwest West State.”
