President Ahmed (left) and President Said will discuss the political situation in Somalia following the Dhuusamareeb Agreement on the electoral model for 2021 elections in Somalia.

Last week Jubaland and Puntland issued a carefully worded, joint statement on the Dhuusamareeb Agreement.

The agreement paves the way for a repeat of indirect but hybrid elections based on the 4.5 power-sharing formula and political parties.

Sources close to Jubaland President told Puntland Post that the International Community is putting a lot of pressure on the Federal Government to seek the input of Jubaland and Puntland and modify aspects of the agreement to make it more inclusive.
