Bardera ( PP News Desk) — Al-shabaab group yesterday executed four men in El-ade village in Gedo. The group accused the men of spying for the Somali intelligence agency and foreign intelligence agencies.

Aden Hassan Mohamed and Abdiasis Hassan Abdi were accused of working with the Somali intelligence agency “to which they passed intelligence about Al-shabaab”. Dini Abdulakadir Mohamed and Isse Osman Gelle were accused of “spying for the American Government and the Ethiopian intelligence service respectively”.
The Al-shabaab prosecutor did not present evidence against the four men nor were the defendants given the right of defence. Al-shabaab has lost territories to the Federal Government of Somalia after intense pressure from the Somali Army and AMISOM.
Al-shabaab is known to pressure families to allow their sons to join the proscribed group.
