Bosaso (PP News Desk) — Bosaso Police in cooperation with Puntland Security Force (PSF) last night diffused an improvised explosive device. Operatives believed to be loyal either to Al-shabaab or ISIS who were burying an IED in a Bosaso city centre street fled the scene.
“Investigations are under way to apprehend suspects who were planting IED and are still at large” the Commander of Bari Police Division said in a statement.
Two weeks ago security forces in Bosaso killed one ISIS assailant and arrested an accomplice after PSF officers searching cars had come under fire from two ISIS fighters.
Al-shabaab and ISIS have bases in Bari, where both outfits allegedly levy tax on some businesses despite the presence of two organisationally distinct security forces in the commercial town of Puntland.
