Garowe (PP News Desk) — Puntland State President Said Abdullahi Deni inaugurated yesterday an educational IT project known as IFIYE (Illuminator). Puntland State Government, Puntland Diaspora and citizens collaborated on the project aimed at providing each pupil with a laptop. Ten thousand pupils will benefit from the scheme.
The first phase of the project will see the distribution of laptops to eighteen primary and secondary schools in Puntland. President Deni lauded efforts of all people who made IFIYE a reality. He underscored the importance of laptops as an educational resource for children in this age of the Internet.
Puntland Education Minister, Puntland State Representative in USA Mulki Abdisamad Hussein, former Puntland President Abdirahman Farole, Abdirisak Jurile, a Senator, attended the event.
