Forum for African Women Educationalists-Somalia Chapter
Forum for African Women Educationalists-Somalia Chapter (FAWESOM) was registered in the state of Puntland in 2006. FAWESOM’s mission is to promote gender equity and equality in education in Somalia by fostering positive policies, practices and attitudes towards women and girls’ education. With its goal of increasing access and retention as well as improving the quality of formal and non-formal education for all girls and women in Somalia, FAWESOM envisions a country where women and girls will have access to education, perform well and complete their studies, and disparities in education are eliminated.
